Nuance – A Multispectral Imaging System

Multispectral Imaging is a technique that provides images of a scene at multiple wavelengths and can generate precise optical spectra at every pixel. Image processing software can then be used to extract the maximum information from the spectral image. Multispectral Imaging in the visible and near-infrared wavelength range is routinely used in "remote sensing", the analysis of landscapes from aircrafts, industrial process controll, vegetable sorting and much more.

Multispectral Imaging has also been adapted for use in microscopy, with applications in surgical pathology, multicolor fluorescence immunohistochemistry, and in DNA expression arrays among others.
